How many classes and units should I take each semester?
- It is recommend that all undergraduate students take between 13 and16 units each semester. A common program would include four courses worth 3 or 4 units each.
-
All students are expected to take a minimum of 13 units each semester. Exceptions to the minimum are considered in certain cases and must be granted by the dean of the College.
- Averaging 15 units per semester (30 per year) will allow you to complete the 120 units required for graduation within two years.
- The maximum unit limit per semester is 20.5. Undeclared students seek exceptions from a College Adviser, and declared students seek them from their major adviser.
