Q - When can I declare a minor?
A - Minors can be declared at the department anytime after completion of the program. It would not be unusual to complete and declare your minor during your senior year.
Q - How difficult is it to complete a minor?
A - Generally, not very difficult. Most minors require only five courses (Computer Science is an exception). Visit the department or departmental website.
Q - Will a minor look good on my diploma?
A - No. Because the minor does not appear on your diploma. It appears in the memoranda column at the bottom of your transcript.
Q - Maybe I should double major instead of minoring?
A - This will involve much more course work and preparation. You definitely want to address the possibility of a double major in your course planning as soon as possible! A double major program requires much more planning, time, and effort than a minor.
