Introduction
Planning Your Years @ Cal (PYY@Cal) is a course selection tool designed specifically for you, the undergraduate student in the College of Letters and Science (L&S). The L&S College Advisers and the L&S Graduation and Transfer Evaluators have designed it to clarify and summarize "Course Priorities" and "Other Issues" that you should consider when planning your studies from beginning to end.
Each Course Priority or Other Issue page contains timely academic and administrative advice for you, as well as sample Frequently Asked Questions. The priorities and issues are organized in relatively brief and easy to read sections with many links to other resources in L&S and around campus. They are presented under five academic year designations: Freshman Year, Sophomore Year, Transfer, Junior Year, Senior Year.
To use PYY@Cal:
- As a new undergraduate, coming from high school, you should begin by selecting the Freshman Year and work through the Sophomore, Junior, and Senior year priorities and issues as you advance toward graduation.
- As a transfer student, you should begin by selecting Transfer, then choose either the section for community college students who have completed the Inter-segmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) or the alternative section tailored to the needs of students without IGETC (non-IGETC) before proceeding to your Senior year priorities and issues.
