Four Year Planner
Freshman Year
- Complete Academic Orienteering and attend CalSO.
- Friend us on Facebook for deadlines and workshop reminders.
- Familiarize yourself with campus resources.
- Attend Finding Your Way events.
- Begin to explore possible majors – identify prerequisite courses, scan upper division courses listed in the General Catalog, review departmental websites, and visit major advisers.
- Sign up for Callisto to learn about internships, summer jobs, graduate school and career preparation.
- Make a four-year plan.
- View your Degree Audit Report to check your academic progress.
Sophomore Year
- Select a major and meet with the major adviser.
- Choose an alternate major, just in case, if your initial major choice is capped.
- Schedule at least one appointment with an L&S adviser to discuss degree progress.
- Explore enrichment opportunities (such as study abroad, internships or research).
- Explore career and/or graduate school opportunities.
- Update your four-year plan.
- View your Degree Audit Report to check your academic progress.
Junior Year
- Declare a major.
- View your Degree Audit Report to check your academic progress.
- Double check your four-year plan for major requirements with your major advisor.
- Double check your four-year plan for college requirements with an L&S adviser.
- Visit the Career Center.
- Do something for enrichment (such as study abroad, internships or research).
Senior Year
- View your Degree Audit Report to make sure you have completed all requirements.
- Review graduation procedures at the beginning of the year with your major and L&S advisers.
- Put yourself on the degree list through Tele-BEARS or by petition in 206 Evans.
- Meet with a Career Center counselor to discuss graduate school or work or both.
