Public Health

Public Health is an impacted ("capped") major that restricts admission due to very high student interest and demand. Transfer students must apply during their first semester. Non-transfer students must apply prior to exceeding 80 units of post-high school coursework. See the department website for details.

Students in the Public Health major develop and apply knowledge from multiple disciplines for the promotion and protection of the health of the human population, informed by principles of human rights and multicultural perspectives. Students choose an emphasis in biostatistics, infectious diseases, epidemiology, environmental health science, health policy and management, and community health and human development.
