Peace and Conflict Studies
The Peace and Conflict Studies (PACS) major involves the systematic and interdisciplinary analysis of confrontation and cooperation among individuals, groups and nations. The curriculum addresses issues of social injustice, poverty, and ecological deterioration as they relate to war and explores the social, psychological, economic and political dimensions of conflict resolution.
Lower Division Requirements and Prerequisites* for the Peace and Conflict Studies Major
*(prerequisites are lower division requirements that must be completed before declaring the major)
- PACS 10* (minimum grade of C required)
- Two additional courses in the humanities or the social sciences. Specific courses available from the major.
- Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to four college-level semesters in a single modern foreign language.
