Anthropology

Anthropology is the study of contemporary societies, past peoples, and human biology. The major at Berkeley offers electives in sociocultural, biological, and medical anthropology and explores human origins, archeology, social organization, and culture change around the world.

Lower Division Prerequisites for the Anthropology Major

  • Anthropology 1, 2 or 2AC, 3 or 3AC

Note: All three courses are prerequisites for admission to the major, but students may apply for admission while completing the third prerequisite.
