Completing the Degree Elsewhere

If you are completing your requirements with courses taken at another school (including UC Berkeley Extension, which is a separate institution), or by completing an Incomplete you received in a previous term, you obviously will not be able to put yourself on the degree list via Tele-BEARS. You will have to file the petition to declare candidacy with the Office of Undergraduate Advising during the first five weeks of the term in which you are completing the coursework. You may download the petition and mail it to our office if you no longer live in the Bay Area, or simply cannot come to our office during open hours.

Seniors who are completing course work for their degree at another institution should be aware that the term must officially end by:

  • December 31st for fall graduates,
  • May 31st for spring graduates,
  • August 31st for summer graduates.

If the term ends later than those dates, the students will not graduate and must place themselves on the degree list for the following term.
