Students in the College of Letters and Science who wish to participate in the UC Education Abroad Program (EAP) must plan carefully for this possibility to ensure that time away from Berkeley does not interrupt their progress toward a degree.
If you plan to study abroad during your sophomore year (30-55 units completed at time of departure), you must fulfill the following requirements before EAP participation:
- Complete at least 30 units of college coursework (post high school graduation). You may not use Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, or other high school enrichment units to count toward the 30 unit minimum requirement.
- Complete the first half of the Reading and Composition requirement.
