Academic Status

Your status as a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior is defined by the number of units you have completed toward the B.A. degree.

  • Freshman: under 30 units
  • Sophomore: 30 completed
  • Junior: 60 completed
  • Senior: 90 completed

Here are some other key terms:

Good Standing - You are in good standing if you are meeting College scholarship requirements and making normal progress toward a degree.

Part-Time Status - You have part-time status if you are taking fewer than 13 units per semester and are paying reduced educational fees. Part-time status in the College is rare and is granted only in cases of compelling personal or financial hardship. Applications are available in the Office of Undergraduate Advising and must be submitted before the first day of classes of each semester.
