What is your approach to advising?

I approach academic advising as teaching.

Education:

M.A. in American Culture, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor
B.A. in Sociology, Yale University

How did you get here?

I advised undergraduates at the University of Michigan for five years. I've taught courses in college writing, American culture, and gender studies. Between my graduate and undergraduate programs, I worked in museum development and membership at the Henry Art Gallery at the University of Washington.

What's your favorite part of your job?

The best part of academic advising is learning how students learn.

What's the best class you've ever taken?

Consumer Culture in Literature and Film

About me:
