E-mail Advising

Send a query by electronic mail. Our e-mail address is: kpasalns@berkeley.edu.

That's K (Que) pasa (pasa) L (Letters) n (and) S (Science), Spanish for "What's happening, Letters & Science?"

If you have burning question at 2:00 a.m., or just do not like listening to our phone message, you can contact us via e-mail. We'll get back to you within two working days. You cannot make appointments or conduct any business that involves your student record, but you can get lots of good advice. Non-confidential questions only - personal information will not be divulged over email.

L&S Peer Advisers

L&S Peer advisers are students who are qualified to answer quick questions. You have probably seen them sitting behind those blue carts.

The peer carts are stationed in Upper Sproul Plaza (near Sather Gate) and in front of Moffit Library every day, Monday-Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. throughout the semester (weather permitting).

Peer advisers are also available during dinner hours at Residence Halls. Look for their schedule at your Academic Resource Center or call us to find out when they'll be coming by.

During the first week of classes each semester, peer advisers staff our Tele-BEARS Resource Center, located in the lobby of Campbell Hall. They have on-line access to class availability to help you find an open section and can answer Tele-BEARS and Info-BEARS questions.

The college advisers in the Office of Undergraduate Advising (OUA) can help you plan your academic program, suggest enrichment opportunities, check your progress toward a degree, and explain academic policies and requirements. It is especially important to seek help from the College advisers in your first two years at Berkeley; however, you are welcome to ask for advice throughout your college career. The advisers have access to your academic records, and can refer you to other campus services for special assistance.

You'll have a lot of requirements to think about while you're here, but don't forget to explore your horizons and take classes just for fun. College is your time to stretch your mind - make the most of it!

Torey Bookstein,
L&S Adviser
